This is a plain, honest starting draft written for a small, solo-built tool — not a substitute for a real legal review. If you need something more formal for your own compliance purposes, have your own counsel look at it.
What ConsentCheck is
ConsentCheck runs a real headless browser against a URL you provide and reports what fires before consent is given. It's a technical audit, not legal advice — it's evidence and a starting point for fixing real issues, not a legal opinion on whether your site is compliant.
Acceptable use
Only scan URLs you have the right to scan — your own site, a client's site you're authorized to audit, or a public site you're evaluating in good faith. Don't use ConsentCheck to attack, overload, or scrape sites, and don't try to abuse the scanner itself (automated bulk scanning outside normal use, attempts to bypass rate limits, reverse-engineering the service to resell it). We reserve the right to block abuse.
Payments & refunds
The full report unlock is a one-time $19 charge per scan. Monitoring is $29/month per site, billed by Stripe. The dashboard lets you view your monitored sites, but doesn't yet support canceling — cancel anytime by replying to any monitoring email you've received from us, and we'll cancel the subscription on our end.
If a report fails to generate correctly or a charge was made in error, email us within 7 days and we'll refund it. This is a human decision, not an automated policy — we'll be reasonable about it.
No warranty / limits on what this tool does
ConsentCheck is provided as-is, with real, specific limits worth knowing before you rely on it:
- It scans a single page, not your whole site.
- It doesn't verify that clicking "Reject" actually blocks tracking — it's a browser-only scan, not an interaction test, yet.
- It can't see server-side tag configuration (e.g. server-side GTM).
- Monitoring re-scans weekly, not in real time.
- It can fail or return incomplete results on sites behind bot challenges (e.g. Cloudflare).
Because of this, we don't guarantee the report is complete or error-free, and we aren't liable for decisions made based on it. Fixing what we flag addresses the most commonly enforced technical issues, but it isn't a substitute for a real privacy/legal review.
